Payment of the joining fee with Application Form will allow the applicant use of the course for 30 days or until the application has been processed, and an invitation to meet the Captain has been sent. Any subscription balance will then be required.
Each application for membership of Upavon Golf Club is considered on its own merits. Ideally applicants will be proposed and seconded by current members of at least 2 years standing.
In lieu of a proposer and seconder, a letter of introduction from another club is acceptable. If you are unable to fulfil these requirements, eg if you are new to the area and have not previously been a member of a golf club, then a brief covering letter should accompany your application.
Details of your application will be posted in the Clubhouse. Provided that no objections are lodged in 2 weeks, you will then be required to attend an introductory meeting with the Club Captain. It is hoped that this meeting - which will last about an hour - will take place within 30 days of receipt of your application. Subject to a satisfactory outcome of this meeting, and after all due fees are paid, you will become a member.
All applicants for membership should have a working knowledge of the rules of golf and an appreciation of course etiquette. In addition, it is a condition of membership that those without a handicap will be required to have a minimum of 2 lessons with one of the Club’s teaching Professionals.
Should you have any questions, please contact the Club Manager, Les Mitchell or Club Professional, Richard Blake.
